Covid-19 News Letter

AAGSL Families,

We are happy your daughter will be taking part in our upcoming season!  We understand the concern you may have with allowing your daughter to play an organized sport and we want to assure you that we are taking all the necessary precautions.  We will, however, need your help in making sure all protocols and recommendations are followed.

The Board has prepared a detailed AAGSL COVID Protocol utilizing CDC and PA Return to Play recommendations.  We have appointed a COVID Safety Officer to help answer your questions and stay on top of the ever changing safety measures and guidelines.

Below you will find the Player Protocols and Parent Communication excerpts from our AAGSL COVID
Protocols. The entire document can be found on our AAGSL website www.aagsl.org/protocols

Before your daughter can take part in ANY AAGSL sponsored event (practice, game, etc), we need a parent or legal guardian to sign a Waiver/Release for Communicable Diseases, Including COVID-19. You can find it on the website www.aagsl.org/waiver and print and sign or your coaches will have a copy of this for you to sign at the first practice.

Additionally, there is an AAGSL Health Screening checklist on our website and will also be distributed to parents at the first practice. Parents are responsible to review this checklist and take temperatures (players, parents and family members) before coming to the field.

If at any time YOU or YOUR CHILD are experiencing any symptoms (found on website and checklist), please stay home.

Please note that equipment will not be shared this season. All players must have their own equipment (helmets, bats, gloves & masks); the AAGSL can provide equipment on a limited basis for the season. If your daughter needs any of
these items, please email Jen Duggan, our league’s Equipment Manager, at: [email protected]. All equipment will be signed out and returned at the end of the season.

Please be sure to read all the AAGSL COVID Protocols which address facemasks, social distancing, and other general guidelines for parents, players and spectators to participate in AAGSL activities.

Players will be socially distanced in the dugout and there are a limited number of players allowed in. The overflow of players will be seated in the bleachers at designated areas.  Spectators, parents and guardians must remain on the hill and not go past the ropes that are around the field.  According to the new mandates, spectators are required to wear masks when you cannot properly social distance.

We intend to run the snack stand on a limited basis with prepackaged food, snacks and drinks.  Masks and social distancing will be required at the stand.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.  We hope for a fantastic and safe season for the girls and want them to get out and have some fun and play some softball!

Warm regards,

Tori Yankow

AAGSL Covid Safety Officer
